Mannheimer, Perez e Lyra Advogados acts in a case concerning the implementation of an intervention project at Jardim de Alah, located between the neighborhoods of Leblon and Ipanema in the city of Rio de Janeiro.

In the lawsuit, the Public Prosecutor’s Office of the State of Rio de Janeiro sought to halt the revitalization works, arguing that Jardim de Alah is a protected heritage site and represents a key element of the landscape and environmental connection between the beachfronts of Leblon, Ipanema, and the Rodrigo de Freitas Lagoon.

In a recent ruling, the court denied the request made by the Public Prosecutor’s Office, allowing the revitalization works to proceed. The decision upheld the defendants’ argument that the project aims to requalify the area, promoting better use of the space, and that the proposed works respect the protected status of the site without altering its character or compromising its historical and environmental value.
